White Wine by St. Supery from Napa Valley, California. The Muscat Canelli grapes for this wine were harvested at night and in the cool early morning hours of September to maintain the delicate fruit flavors. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were crushed and pressed into chilled tanks for settling. The clean juice was racked and fermentation was initiated in temperature-controlled storage. A long, cool fermentation allowed for excellent flavor retention. After final blending, the wine was stabilized and prepared for bottling. The 2006 Muscato is like a breath of summer in a glass. There is a wonderful aroma of white peach, apricot pear and slight floral finish. The wine is light and delicate yet full of intense flavors of sweet ripe pear and apricots. This is a perfect aperitif for an afternoon gathering.

The vines' high average age of some 30 years ensures low yields and concentrated fruit. The clay-limestone soil contains a high proportion of fossil-flecked muschel-kalk, which bangs out all that is best in the Riesling. Cuvee Frederic Emile is made solely frm very ripe grapes, picked selectively at the end of the harvest. Dry and firmly-structured, but very fruity, this multifaceted wine owes its great depth of flavour to the combination of Riesling grapes with ideal soil. This wine is something of a legend among wine geeks - try and bottle and you'll see why. Winemaker and grower Marc Ollivier takes his time to make his Muscadet. He hand harvests (a rarity in the region), uses natural yeasts, waits for the wine to finish fermentation, and bottles with a very light filtration. His Muscadet has a bright color; a slightly bubbly, round and supple mouthfeel with sound structure; and a clean and fruity finish. Clos des Briords is Marc's finest Muscadet. It comes from a single plot of 50-year old vines planted in schist (shale). Marc is the only grower in Muscadet who does not have a single clonal selection vine (commonly used toincrease yield) in his vineyards. He propagates vines from the bud wood of the existing ones. His wines are kept on the yeast twice as long as those of his neighbors. The resulting wine is an extraordinary Muscadet. This wine has citrus-lime and wet stone aromas. White Wine by Kenwood from Sonoma County, California. For more than twenty-five years Kenwood Vineyards has been recognized as one of California's top Sauvignon Blanc producers. The fruit sourced for this wine comes from their growers in five different appellations in Sonoma County. This wine shows lively varietal aromas of grass, Meyer lemon and freshly cut honeydew melon. Fresh and crisp, with lively body and a lingering finish. Best served chilled, this Sauvignon Blanc makes an excellent aperitif and will complement higher-acid dishes including salads and vegetables. It is remarkably adaptable to soil and climate, and will always produce a wine with fine rounded fruit that is balanced by good acidity. Whereas in Burgundy wines made from Chardonnay may need several years to be at their best, wines from the Midi show their fruit early and should be drunk within two years of the vintage. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine was created from premium Sonoma County vineyards, primarily from the renowned Russian River and Alexander Valleys. The 2005 vintage was a winemaker's dream for white wines in Sonoma County, and this Chardonnay is no exception. This vibrant, richly textured wine explodes with an intense beam of apple and mandarin citrus flavors on the palate, with a delicate floral note and creamy oak adding complexity. White Wine by Dom. Schlumberger from Alsace, France. Product of a great year, this is a beautiful example of a high quality Riesling that is fruity, dry and robust. It will enhance all simply-prepared dishes and fish, as well as meat. It may easily be cellared three to four years, but is enjoyable now. Riesling, a dry yet lively wine with a racy acidity, is considered the noble grape of the Alsatian varietals. It is very different to its German counterpart and to the numerous Rieslings which are now appearing around the world. The Alsace Riesling is better known for the elegant balance of acidity and fruit. It is a late maturing varietal and continues to mature even at quite low temperatures with wonderful results when the vintage ends with a warm and sunny harvest month.

The wine is 100% Riesling and is distinguished by a piercing and beautiful aroma suggesting spring flowers. The wine is bone dry and delicious. The Riesling is considered the signature wine of the Albrecht family. Quick, floral and mineral smell, it reveals itself slightly spiced and elegant in the mouth.

Legend has it when the bird appeared in the Southern African skies, all who fell under its shadow would be blessed with a bountiful harvest. Kanu wines celebrates this legend. Pale straw colour. A nose of tropical fruit and summer melon with a hint of spice. Crisp and full bodied, the papaya and pineapple flavours ensure a lingering aftertaste.
White Wine by Lincourt from Central Coast, California. As is typical, the lion share of this Chardonnay is sourced from Santa Maria Valley's famous Bien Nacido Vineyard, with the balance coming from cool-climate vineyards in Sta. Rita Hills. The Bien Nacido fruit gives the wine its signature tropical fruit aromatics and its lush texture in the mouth. The Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay provides lemon curd and mandarin orange notes, and the acidity to give the wine structure. All of the different lots were whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented and aged for 11 months in 60-gallon French oak barrels. While in oak, the wine completed 100% Malolactic fermentation. Lees were stirred weekly to give the Chardonnay a richer, more opulent mouth feel, and a toasted bread-like bouquet. The crisp acidity and low pH keeps the wine interesting from first sip to last.
White Wine by Au Bon Climat from Central Coast, California. The fruit for this wine comes from the oldest section of Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, planted in the early 70ls. This vineyard has a high degree of calcified marine deposits in the soil, the vineyard orientation is a very cool northern-facing site, and the cool ocean breezes in what is now the Sta. Rita Hills appellation (a sub-appellation of the Santa Ynez valley) all combine for compelling terroir exhibited in the wines from Sanford and Benedict Vineyard. The 2008 harvest was typical, we would generally pick Chardonnay from Sanford and Benedict Vineyards towards the end of September. After hand-picking, whole cluster pressing and complete primary and malo-lactic fermentation in the barrel, which are 50% new French, the wine was aged sur-lee for 12 months in these same barrels. The final product is a wine of balance and restraint with underlying power. You can smell and taste the flinty soil. After bottle aging for a year the limey, lemony flavors and aromas are starting to become more apparent. This is a wine that is great today, try it with lighter fare. The wine will easily age for 10 years. In the future pair this wine stone crab, or any shell fish.

The variety's pronounced fragrance of rose, lychee and spice introduces the rich and often powerful taste adopted around the world as the perfect accompaniment to spicy food. The 2004 Gewurztraminer is dry, with good levels of natural alcohol and plenty of appealing acidity -the Trimbach family's signature. The 2004 Gewurztraminer is gold in color with a spicy nose perfumed with lychee. Rich and intense, this Gewurztraminer is luscious and well balanced with a dry, spicy finish. This is a textbook Gewurztraminer from Alsace that will easily age 5 years or more. Gewurztraminer is a classic match with spicy Asian, Mexican, or Indian fare, and strong cheeses such Muenster or Roquefort.
White Wine by Hugel from Alsace, France - regions. The grapes used to produce Hugels Classic wines come exclusively from estate owned vineyards or from growers under long term contract surrounding the village of Riquewihr. Quite a deep pale green, straw yellow color, clear, bright and nicely unctuous in aspect. The bouquet is very aromatic, perfumed and fruity, but above all, spicy, dominated by saffron, nutmeg, fresh almond, with lots of dense, oriental rose, frangipane, jasmine and fresh China tea. There is an discernable sensation of softness and harmony that bathes the palate. It is seductive and flattering yet totally dry, with a subtle astringency, the hallmark of a Gewurztraminer with character, from a fine vintage and picked at perfect maturity. A wine to drink now or within 2 or 3 years, served chilled at 48? as an aperitif or with lightly spicy food, from China, Morocco or Indonesia, with lobster and crayfish, and with strong cheeses like Munster.
