White Wine by Pike & Joyce from South Australia, Australia. The Pike & Joyce vineyard, high up in the Adelaide Hills outside of the town of Lenswood, is a very special place. The steep slopes only permit hand pruning and harvesting. The fruit exhibits great intensity and purity. This '06 Pinot Gris is a beauty. Clean and fresh nectarine and pear flavors leap out of the glass. Hints of stone and flint linger all the way to the vibrant and long finish. This wine is both intensely flavored and wonderfully elegant. One of the best New World Pinot Gris's you are ever likely to taste. Enjoy whilst it is young and frisky.
White Wine by Redbank from Australia. Exceptional value in Chardonnay. The Long Paddock Chardonnay 2004 displays a complex aroma of peach and melon with some citrus notes. The balanced and mouthfilling palate is driven by fresh fruits and given layers of complexity from the oak and malolactic, finishing with toast and creaminess. This wine can be enjoyed with many foods, such as fresh seafood or creamy risotto.

Red Wine by Torbreck from Barossa Valley, Australia. A blend of 44 year old Eden Valley Shiraz vines and 80 year old Barossa Shiraz, the Struie is aged for 18 months in a combination of old and new French oak barriques prior to bottling. Its dense color is accompanied by a fragrant bouquet comprising blackberry, pepper and licorice aromas, and a rich, silky mouth feel. The Struie greatly rewards those with the patience to carefully cellar it.
Red Wine by Torbreck from Barossa Valley, Australia. The name Woodcutters stems from when David Powell spent several years working in the Scottish Highlands as a lumberjack or woodcutter in the Torbreck forest. The Woodcutters Red, like all Torbreck wines, sources fruit from hand harvested and hand tended, low yielding vines. It is fermented and gently pressed, then aged for 12 months in large format seasoned barrels and foudres. Although this wine is constantly praised for being succulent and rich, perhaps the best features of Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz are its complexity and texture which are rarely found at this price.
Red Wine by Tyrrell's from Australia. The 2003 Lost Block shiraz is deep red in color with a bright purple rim. The nose displays aromas of ripe plums, chocolate and vanilla essence. Sweet Shiraz fruit and spicy white pepper are evident on the palate which is supported by form tannins, along with good length and complexity.
Red Wine by Tyrrell's from McLaren Vale, Australia. The wine has great color and structured tannins, and the flavors and natural acidity make for well balanced wines, some of the best ever seen in McLaren Vale. A full flavored style that encapsulates the wonderfully rich varietal characters of McLaren Vale Shiraz. There are fresh aromas of ripe berry fruit, a touch of spicy pepper and a sweet lift of vanillin oak. The palate is full bodied with smooth supple tannins, an intense middle palate with a long finish that is reminiscent of pure cocoa chocolate with a savory edge.
Non-Vintage by Wolf Blass from Australia. This wine is light to medium straw in color with a hint of green. Complex aromas of fresh fruit and creamy yeast are perfectly balanced on the nose. On the fine palate, green apple chardonnay flavours and strawberry Pinot Noir characters are complemented with a crisp lively acidity. An outstanding sparkling for the price. Enjoy as an aperitif or will pair well with many foods.
Red Wine by Yalumba from Coonawarra, Australia. "Bright violet. Juicy, high-pitched aromas of redcurrant, cassis, cocoa powder and sweet underbrush. Quite round, even lush, on the palate, but the red and dark fruit flavors convey impressive structure and focus thanks to suave tannins and subtle acidity. With air, this developed a sweet cherry flavor, with hints of smoky herbs and cured meat. The aroma is a meld of briar, red currant and black olive flavours through to black cherry and plum skins. The palate opens with the sweet berry richness of red currants and dark chocolates, merging into a full bodied wine with a nice fleshy extract. Good density and lashings of soft tannins building towards the finish.

Yalumba The Octavius has established a reputation as one of Australia's icon Shiraz wines, an amazing feat considering the first release was the 1990 vintage. The 2002 vintage was exemplary. The weather remained mild and dry over the long ripening period - in fact the month of January experienced the lowest day temperatures on record. The end result was wines with great color, varietal flavors and intensity. Yalumba The Octavius Barossa Shiraz 2002 is vibrant deep ruby red in colour. Deep, dark, brooding aromas of plum, blackberry and chocolates are lifted by nuances of ground coffee, licorice, violets and cassis. Soft, velvety and sumptuous, the palate is a voluptuous concoction of blackberries, cherries, dark chocolates and creamy vanilla oak, all framed by tight knit tannins. The length is remarkable and the balance exceptional.

In addition to being sourced from a number of very old vineyards in the Barossa, The Octavius is matured in American oak octaves of 90 liters capacity. It is the only red wine in the world that is matured in such small barrels. The secret of the wine not becoming overpowered by the oak lies in the wood which is seasoned at Yalumba's own on-site cooperage for eight years before the octaves are crafted. Yalumba The Octavius 2003 is very dark, impenetrable, deep black purple red in colour. A fine nose of ripe dark fruits, plums, prunes and licorice exudes scents of violets, dark chocolate and espresso. A smooth, silky textured palate seamlessly integrates inky black berry flavours. Beautifully refined with supple tannins, this is a wine of outstanding poise, elegance and length.

A brilliant effort, the 2004 Shiraz/Viognier (95% of the former and 5% of the latter) was aged 12 months in both American and French 300 liter barrels (only 10% new). Super-rich, heady, and full-bodied, it offers aromas of roasted meats, Provencal herbs, blackberries, cassis, new saddle leather, and licorice, terrific fruit as well as texture, and a supple, explosive finish. Red Wine by Yalumba from Barossa Valley, Australia. Yalumba Hand Picked Mourvedre Grenache Shiraz 2004 is deep, dark, purple ruby red in colour. A very attractive and aromatic nose offers white pepper and black cherry with brier and bramble notes. Complex, rustic and very Rhone-like, with dried herbs and roasted meat flavours. The palate displays flavours that are rich yet stylishly expressed, with dried fruits to cream, milk choclates, dates and malt. Quite savoury with funky complexities of tar, leather, fruit cake and spices, finishing with long gravelly tannins that will transform if you let it rest in a decanter. A wine with fantastic balance, warmth, generosity and approachability.

Ros Wine by Yalumba from Barossa Valley, Australia. With a fine ruby colour, Yalumba Y Series Sanviovese Rose has exotic aromas of raspberries, strawberries and cream with notes of lilac and violets, all with a minerally edge. A succulent mouth feel is enhanced by flavours of strawberry, rhubarb and cinnamon. It opens to a fine dense body of wine with a soft texture that is long and beautifully balanced.
Red Wine by Yangarra Estate from McLaren Vale, Australia. Sourced from The Beach vineyard with vines planted in 1946 in sixty-million-year-old maslin sands. This wine exhibits incredibly rich and intense flavors of dark fruits with velvety tannins, and with an inviting perfume of fresh roses. A consistent performer over the years, Yangarra's Grenache is one of the rare examples that appears to have the stuff to improve for two or three years. Aromas are dominated by oak at this young age - cedar, vanilla and coffee - but there's plenty of dense, plummy fruit that comes through on the palate and a firmly tannic finish that promises better things ahead.
