Red Wine by 2 Brothers from Chile, South America. This wine comes from two brothers, Alex, a wine importer, and Erik, a tattoo artist, who wanted to pay homage, in a non-serious way, to their late mother who suffered from cancer. They decided to label and bottle their own wine and donate the proceeds to a good cause. With their combined talents and effort, they created Big Tattoo Red. For every bottle sold, 50 cents is being donated to the Arlington, Virginia Hospice and a breast cancer research foundation in the name of Liliana S. Bartholomaus. Introduced in the Winter of 2002, sales from Big Tattoo Wines has raised over $850,000 for charity. Varietal composition: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Syrah This blend packs a powerhouse of fruit. Aromas of ripe berry fruit and plums set the stage for an explosion of fruit in the mouth with flavors of blackberries, black cherries, and cocoa that all come together on the rich and lingering finish.

For density and lushness on what can best be described as basic Merlot, you're not going to find it much better than this. Red Wine by Laurel Glen from Chile, South America. Harvested from ancient vines on the slopes of the Andes Mountains, comes Terra Rosa Malbec: a glass-staining wine with a lovely and exotically perfumed nose. It has a rich, deep, and hauntingly elegant mouthfeel with a ripe blueberry character and a sensuous smokiness. Taste it: you might expect a massive, bold wine, but it is surprisingly lilting on the palate. It's not larded up with oak, although it has been raised in barrels for eighteen months to provide its frame and to round it out. The finish is long, with pure fruit flavors.
Red Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. Le Dix, meaning 10 in French, was introduced in 1996 to celebrate Domaine Barons de Rothschild's first ten years in Chile. It is only produced in extraordinary vintage years. Le Dix de Los Vascos is grown in the exceptional vineyard, called El Fraile, which means the monk, the oldest planted vineyard at Los Vascos and the original vineyard on the estate. The vineyard is 100% planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and many parcels of the vineyard have vines reaching 80 years in age. The vineyard is fairly large, covering some 200 acres, Le Dix is produced from severely reduced yields from El Fraille (the best) combined with the most rigorous cuvee selection - the resulting wine is of world class stature. Le Dix 2002 is of a deep intense ruby color with an elegant nose full of black cherries within a nice background of black fruits and oak. It is succulent in the mouth with live crispy tannins and vibrant fruit. It is pleasantly long while also full bodied and fresh. It is ready to drink now but will age well for some eight to ten years.
Red Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. The color is intense ruby, almost black, with some amber reflections. This Reserve has aromas rich in vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon, cedar and spices. Wood and fruit are seamlessly integrated. Later, the nose develops into ripe black fruit such as mulberry and cherry with a note of blackcurrant. In the mouth, it is rich, round and fleshy like a coffee éclair. The tannins are silky and elegant and the wine has impressive length with a pleasant peppery and liquorice finish. Fully harmonious! One can drink it now or with pleasure for another 10 years.
White Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. This wine is bright with white gold highlights. The nose is very expressive with white fruit aromas (pears, bananas). Initiated in 1997, MontGras' Ninquen Project was born of an appreciation for the unique properties of the specific terroir on Ninquen Mountain in Chile's Colchagua Valley, and an ambition to forge a name for MontGras in the elite ultra-premium category. 222 acres atop Ninquen were dedicated to the venture and planted with a range of red grape varieties. With this move, MontGras became Chile's first winery to plant atop the plateau of a mountain (Ninquen means plateau on a mountain in ancient local dialect).
