White Wine by A to Z from Oregon. Vivid gold with green highlights. Aromatics of pear, green apple, quince, apple blossom, lime, tangerine, talc and wet stone minerality evolve to include honey, butter, nutmeg and white chocolate. In the mouth, the wine is gorgeous. The ripeness and richness of the fruit are perfectly balanced by the beautiful acidity. Concentrated and succulent with a long, clean finish.
White Wine by A to Z from Willamette Valley, Oregon. Yellow gold with beautiful emerald highlights, the initial aromatics are redolent of ripe citrus fruits, acacia flowers, tropical fruits (mango, papaya and kiwis) and lychee. With more time in the glass powdered sugar, honeysuckle, nectarine and pineapple notes all add to the overall aromatic complexity. The concentrated attack is balanced by ripe acidity that gives classic Oregon Pinot Gris proportions to the wine. The unctuousness of the mid-palate is buttressed by a juiciness that gives definition and focus. The finish rolls seamlessly off the mid-palate and is perhaps the longest of any Pinot Gris A to Z has yet produced.
Red Wine by A to Z from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The 2006 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir is blended from wines made from at least sixteen different vineyards representing all of the Oregon AVAs that grow Pinot Noir. A to Z takes great care over many months in crafting one cuvee each vintage, a complex blend that embodies the essence of Oregon Pinot Noir. Clear and vibrant, the initial aromas of this wine are of raspberries, blueberries, baking spices and Bing cherries but evolve to the more complex aromas of clean earth, minerals, smoke, red currants and flint. The mouth fulfills the expectations promised by the aromatics and has a rich texture, good acidity and a strong structure. The 2006 A to Z Pinot Noir shows great poise, concentrated depth and purity within a lacy framework. Rich, classically proportioned and built for mid-term aging.

Vintage by Argyle from Willamette Valley, Oregon. What were you doing twelve years ago? We were picking the grapes that have become this sparkling wine. Since then it has been aging slowly on yeast in the bottle in our cool temperature warehouse. The color is a rich, youthful yellow. After ten years of waiting, the aromas are ready to punch out of the glass with a rich potpourri of wild ginger root, Gala apple, and a splash of nectarine, tangerine and mandarin! The flavor is extra creamy in texture. The bubbles are tiny and foamy. The fruit flavors of the aroma complex with pink pepper spice and baked filo dough yeastiness. Mouth-filling richness is translated into a very long and fresh finish. This wine will also age for quite some time on cork if cellared properly. The 1995 vintage in Oregon was a sparkling winemakers dream. Late ripening, of perfectly balanced sparkling wine grapes were unaffected by early rains. Everyone of the some 25 base wines we made in 1995 was a delight. The grapes for this wine were hand-picked into small baskets. They were then transported to the winery where they were chilled to 35 degrees F before being gently pressed. After several weeks of settling in tank, only the freshest heart juice was fermented using one of Argyle's proprietary yeast strains. A blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir and bottle aged on yeast for a decade, this ET retains the freshness of youth. An assemblage of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir, the 1995 Brut Extended Tirage is disgorged on demand. Its complex nose of minerals, toast, yeast, and dried honey is followed by a medium-bodied character of green apples, almonds, hazelnuts (or filberts as they're known in Oregon), and flowers. This outstanding sparkler has a wonderful balance, expressiveness and length. -Wine Advocate A lovely follow-up to the outstanding '94, this well-integrated, perfectly aged brut is still crisp and showing hints of fresh apple, along with beeswax, citrus and gooseberry.

Look for wonderful aromas of pear blossom, citrus-honey, lime with a hint of fresh rosemary sprig. The flavor is a big feature, mouthful of pear, creamed butter, and apple tart dusted with rosemary. The center is soft and supple in structure, while extra juicy all the way through the long finish. In typical Argyle style, a rocky mineral seam runs right through all the luscious pear, butter and apple.

Red Wine by Dom. Drouhin Oregon from Willamette Valley, Oregon. Ve ronique's Tasting Notes: The 2004 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is quintessential Pinot to me: beautiful, soft, feminine, and obviously pleasurable. The color is classic ruby red, and the wine has the medium body I look for. On the nose, the '04 is all cherries and crushed berries. On the palate, the wine is luscious and concentrated, leading to a long finish. I wouldn't hesitate to drink the wine now, but I would be very happy to save several bottles to enjoy over the next 10+ years.

At Raptor Ridge, we eschew watering and acidifying our wines, so please enjoy this once-in-a-decade vintage - 2006. Soft, ripe and appealing for its cherry and red berry flavors as they roll unimpeded over fine tannins and hang around on the finish, where they suggest prosciutto and spice. Red Wine by Sineann from Columbia Valley, Washington. Our flagship wine. It is the oldest producing vineyard in the Pacific Northwest at nearly 100 years old. Every year it makes either the best wine we put out or very close to it. In 2006 we picked at 26 Brix, cropping at under two tons per acre. The wine is dark and immensely concentrated. To those who wonder if Zinfandel can be ripened outside of California, we offer this example. Not only does Zinfandel ripen on this old vineyard, it maintains balancing acidity to produce a wine that ages beautifully.
Red Wine by Sineann from Willamette Valley, Oregon. Can't say enough good things about this wine - one of the real thrills of the vintage. We expect Resonance to shine. Phelps Creek is automatic. To have this vineyard step up to that level of quality is very exciting. Located at fairly high elevation in the Hood River Valley, 1600 feet, the grapes are able to retain higher natural acidity. The higher acidity gives the wine brightness in its youth and a better ability to age gracefully. That and great concentration of fruit (from 1.5 ton per acre crop sizing) have produced a delicious wine.
White Wine by Sokol Blosser from Oregon. We shortened the name to Evolution (we also trademarked it) and had fun with the package. The new label picks up similar elements of the old label with a fresh twist. It reflects how Evolution evolves: the same classic blend of 9 white grapes, each pressed separately, adding its own character. At the same time, every new bottling has its own subtle and fresh personality; this edition is slightly less sweet than the last. The 9 grapes tie together perfectly, creating a smooth, layered white wine that can hold its own or stand up to just about any food pairing you dare to serve it with. It is extraordinarily food-friendly, from light salads to the hottest fusion-style cuisine. Regarding the question we're most often asked: Were you trying to do this or did your leftovers happen to work well together? We'll let the success of Evolution speak for itself.
